4 Year Old Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program


To be eligible for the 2017-18 ACS Pre K Program, a child must:

  • Turn 4 on or before September 1st, and
  • Live in the city limits of Albertville (exceptions: ACS system employees or families that live outside the city limits, but currently have a child enrolled in good standing within the school system…to be verified in the enrollment office).


Step 1:  Begin the process by completing the registration application in InfoSnap found at www.albertk12.org, Enrollment, 17-18 New Student Enrollment, 17-18 School Year.  If you currently have a child enrolled in our system, you will login to your existing account.

 Step2:  After completing the online registration, visit the Albertville City Schools Enrollment Office located at 1100 Horton Road, Albertville, Alabama. You will need the following documents when arriving at the Enrollment Office:

 a.  Two Proofs of Residence inside the Albertville City Limits (preferably a copy of the lease/mortgage agreement, MUB utility bill, government correspondence).

b.   Documentation of student's legal guardian/custodian (parent, parent designated primary physical custodian, court appointed legal custodian)

c.   Age Verification Documentation (Birth Certificate)

d.   Social Security Card (if available)

e.   Parent/Guardian I.D.

f.   Alabama Immunization Record (Blue Slip)


Step 3:  When the child is cleared through the enrollment office, the parent will receive a card that MUST be turned in at the Albertville Community Learning Center Office (located on the AES side of the building between the two playgrounds).

Students’ Names will not be placed in our Random Lottery Draw until this card is received. 

This process MUST be completed by 11:30 a.m. Friday, MARCH 17TH .


Things you need to know:

1.     Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from school.

2.     The program meets every day, Monday-Friday, in accordance with the ACS System approved Calendar. (Exceptions:  scheduled holidays & severe weather days)

3.     Drop Off is at 7:40 a.m. and Pick Up is at 2:10 p.m. each day.

4.     Children will have the opportunity to eat breakfast and lunch at school.

5.     There is a monthly tuition based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines.  (Dependent on the number in the family and Gross Income. A completed 2016 tax return will be used to verify income after the random draw.)

6.    A limited number of spots will be available for students needing Extended Day.

Albertville City Schools is pleased to offer 4 year old pre-kindergarten classes at the Albertville Early Learning Center.  The AELC Pre-K program is located in the Albertville Community Learning Center at 1100 Horton Road (on the campuses of APS/AES). 
The goal of all Pre-K classes at the Albertville Early Learning Center is to help students become kindergarten-ready. Each classroom has 18 students with a certified teacher and an aide. Tuition is based on income. Hours of operation are 7:40 a.m.-2:10 p.m. (when school is in session). Extended care is available until 5:30 p.m. for an additional fee.
